Timberland Acquisition Services & Expansion of Operations

Fountains has just completed a property search and acquisition project to assist an investor in acquiring a significant timberland asset. The overseas investor was interested in diversifying into timberland and retained Fountains for acquisition and due diligence services. Fountains identified a 35,000-acre tract located in southern Ontario and, upon negotiation of price and purchase terms on behalf of the investor, provided comprehensive due diligence services, including a full timber inventory and negotiation of rail transportation access. The property was recently acquired by the investor and is currently managed by Fountains, bringing the Company’s forest management base in Ontario to 145,000 acres. Fountains has commenced development of a forest management plan in an effort to ensure the property’s resources are fully considered for value added opportunities.

Fountains Expands Timberland Brokerage Services to Pennsylvania

Fountains is pleased to announce its recent expansion of timberland brokerage services to Pennsylvania. Michael Tragner, President of Fountains, states “the company’s brokerage services have been an important component of the broad range of services we provide to our clients. Our goal is to build upon the company’s long-standing brokerage success in New York and New England while affording investors and timber industry contacts with additional exposure to high quality Allegheny hardwood investment opportunities. The Pennsylvania brokerage services will be provided by Todd Waldron and Michael Tragner, each possessing extensive experience with timberland investment transactions, land valuation, HBU sales, timber valuation and investor relations. This team is supported by an array of experienced Fountains staff including PA Area Forester Joe Glover and a talented group of inventory specialists, GIS experts, land use consultants, and a forest analyst. Overseas investor relations will be overseen by Alan Guy, a long-tenured Fountains employee who has assisted in the company’s successful introduction of US timberlands to overseas investors.

America Acquires TwoDog Brand Forest Inventory Software

Fountains America, a forest management, land brokerage, and GIS
services company based in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, announces that
it has acquired TwoDog forestry software from Foresters Incorporated.
TwoDog is a forest inventory software package used by natural resource
managers to collect and process data to help make informed forest
management decisions and to provide accurate timber valuation. Created
in 1993 by Foresters Incorporated, TwoDog provides a robust suite
of functions in a highly customizable package. The software bundle
provides accurate timber volume calculations in the office and field.
In addition to timber volumes, TwoDog has been designed to enable
data collection and process information on a wide range of non-timber
variables of interest to natural resource managers. “We are
very excited to be able to provide TwoDog to natural resource professionals”
says Philip Bryce, Fountains America President. “It is a great
addition to our existing suite of products and services.”
Both office and field versions of the software are available. OfficeDog
runs on your PC and provides extensive custom inventory design and
setup tools along with data entry, calculation and reporting functions.
PocketDog runs on Windows Mobile based handheld computers as a data
collector, providing up-to-now summaries and statistics in the field.
The graphical interface and touch screen streamline and simplify
data collection in an intuitive manner requiring little to no training
for field personnel.”

America Announces Forest Analysis Group

NH) June 8, 2009: fountains america Fountains America,
a forest management, land brokerage, and GIS services company based
in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, announces that one of its subsidiaries,
Fountains Forestry, will launch a new business stream, the Forest
Analysis Group. The goal of the Forest Analysis Group is to provide
technical analysis of forest resources for a broad range of clients.
The Forest Analysis Group will focus on projects that include advanced forest inventory design and
implementation, forest growth and yield forecasting, complete and well documented timberland
investment due-diligence, wood market supply analyses, forest investment financial projection, and
other expert services. These services will be valuable to Timberland Investment Management
Organizations, Real Estate Investment Trusts, forest products companies, federal, state, and local
governments, and the greater forestry community.
James Walters, a registered professional forester and licensed real estate salesperson in the state of
West Virginia, will lead the Forest Analysis Group. Mr. Walters has modeled timber growth and yield
employing both publicly available growth and yield models and custom models utilizing private and
public data. He is responsible for design and quality control on timber inventories conducted by
Fountains Forestry, and leads timber audit projects. He has provided investment due diligence services
on over one million acres with services that have included inventory and harvest modeling, timber
market analyses, cash flow projection, and financial forecasting. Since 2001, Mr. Walters also served
as Area Forester in the central Appalachia office of Fountains Forestry where he was responsible for all
aspects of management activities on client properties in central Appalachia totaling approximately
145,000 acres. He has a Master’s in Forestry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University.

Sale
of Cowee Forest Products Corporation
(Pittsfield,
NH) December 31, 2008: fountains america fountains land
is pleased to announce its successful marketing of Cowee Forest
Products Corporation (CFP), which closed in late December of 2008.
CFP is a forest products business based in Berlin, whose roots extend
back nearly 100 years. The corporate sale (which transferred all
shares in the company) included a manufacturing facility located
in Berlin, and 23,115± acres in 15 separate tracts located in Rensselaer
County in New York and Bennington County in Vermont. 75% of the
land base was unencumbered, while the balance is covered by a conservation
easement held by the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation.
The buyer, a major US TIMO, plans to continue the land's traditional use of producing
high quality sawlogs utilizing widely accepted long-term silvicultural practices.

In October of 2008 fountains real estate changed
its name to fountains land while simultaneously
upgrading the functionality and look to its web site. These changes
were in association with a larger marketing effort undertaken by
fountains america, the parent company of fountains
land, fountains forestry, and fountains
spatial.
The ownership and dedicated staff of fountains land remain the same. The only difference is our name. As our core business is primarily land brokerage, the name change clearly reflects our focus. This strategic change will strengthen our market identity and increase listed property exposure, to ensure that our clients’ goals are achieved.
